Mobile and Temporary Offices

If your company is involved in any kind of site work, whether it’s building construction, mining or civil engineering, then chances are good that you have—or could use—temporary office space onsite. If your onsite office trailer came equipped with air conditioning and electrical wiring, then of course we can connect it to an electrical supply. We can also provide filtering and pressurisation that will keep dust out and guarantee that good air quality is maintained.

If you’re using a temporary structure that does not have built-in electrical and mechanical systems, then we can provide them. We can add electrical outlets, air conditioning, ventilation, air filtering and pressurisation. Your professional staff and contractors will have a clean and comfortable work environment with all the electronic and office equipment they need to keep things running smoothly.

Onsite Cool Rooms

In a recent blog post, we discussed Worksafe’s recommendations for working in mines and other hot environments. We chose just two quotes to use in the blog post, but we actually looked over quite a bit of government advice. For example, South Australia has published a Code of Practice called ‘Managing the Work Environment and Facilities’, and one piece of advice that really jumped out was this suggestion from Section 2.8: Heat and Cold.

“Provide a cool, well-ventilated area where workers can take rest breaks.”

This advice isn’t just directed at the mining industry; it’s general advice for all workplaces where excessively hot temperatures might be a problem on the job. It applies to construction, energy, manufacturing and even warehousing. With the summer temperatures we’ve been experiencing lately, any workplace that isn’t temperature-controlled puts workers at risk for heat stroke during the summer, and one good way to mitigate the risk? Provide air conditioned rest areas for the workers, and make sure that if your facility or worksite is large, you have cool areas that are easily accessible to everyone who might experience heat-related problems.

Whether you’re using trailers, shipping containers or sheds as cool rooms, Lyons Air Conditioning can outfit them with the systems they need in order to function as safe havens for your workers, helping to protect their health, keep their productivity up, and protect you from liability. If you have an enclosed space, we can make sure the air inside is cool and clean. Get in touch today; everyone on the job will thank you.
